Apodments & Microhousing in Seattle

Last night I attended a Seattle Met/Publicola event focused on discussing the pros and cons of “aPodment” or “micro” housing in Seattle, and how the various neighborhoods feel about it.  It was actually a pretty balanced panel of folks, including micro-housing proponent Roger Valdez, public opponent / skeptic Bill Bradburd, Seattle City Council member Tom Rasmussen, and the head of the city’s Department of Planning and Development Diane Sugimura.  The cozy event took place at the Jewel Box theater inside Belltown’s Rendezvous bar.  Needless to say, it was tight for the 40 or so citizen guests (and Seattle Met’s hushers, um, staffers, and the camera crew).
